Workshop Details

Does the sight of a Bald Eagle light you up? Do you think that a Great Blue Heron is just about the coolest thing ever? (Except maybe a Snowy Owl?) Are you ready to take your avian photography to the next level? Join award-winning wildlife photographer, Charles MacPherson, as we take to the field to capture images of birds at rest, feeding and in-flight!

Whether you shoot with a small, handheld camera or a monster 800mm lens, this workshop will help you to improve your bird images.

We’ll learn about composing the image, dealing with the hands-of-man, difficult lighting and how to overcome it, finding the best shooting position, acquiring and tracking birds in flight, long lens handling techniques, panning techniques and more. While avian photography can be challenging, it can be *very* rewarding – and this workshop will help you to make the most of it!

For an extra treat, why not rent a Super-Telephoto from our friends at LensProToGo? We’ll give you hands on training in how to use it right there at the workshop!

All three workshops meet in the parking lot of the Daniel Webster Audubon Sanctuary, promptly at the indicated starting time.  Admission is free for Massachusetts Audubon members and $3.00 for non-member adults.  Printable directions are HERE!

Please note that all classes, tours and workshops are subject to our cancellation policies.
